KidSport Canada
 
 
 
 

KidSport™ is a national children's charitable program that helps disadvantaged kids overcome the financial barriers preventing or limiting their participation in organized sport.

KidSport™ Nova Scotia provides funding of up to $300/year/child for sport registration and/or equipment.


In operation since 1994, KidSport™ Nova Scotia has allocated over one million dollars to help children take part in organized sports.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart

Canadian Tire JumpStart is a community-based charitable program that helps kids in financial need participate in organized sports and recreation such as hockey, dance, soccer and swimming. For more information visit the web-site at www.canadiantire.ca/jumpstart.


Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund
For any members looking for financial assistance to pay for hockey this season, the new Hockey Canada Foundation Assist Fund is making one million dollars in subsidies available to assist with registration fees for Canadian youth. https://assistfund.hockeycanadafoundation.ca/en/index.html 


Mooseheads Keeping Kids in the Game Fund
Cole Harbour Minor Hockey has received monies from the Mooseheads Keeping Kids in the Game Fund, for players who may require financial assistance with registration costs. We have up to 40 one-time bursaries to offer. This funding can be used in addition to support from other funds (i.e.: KidSport, Jumpstart, etc.) to reduce the total cost of registration. 

Funding eligibility will be determined using the KidSport criteria – Application Form .

Player Assistance Fund

Cole Harbour Minor Hockey has set aside funds (including a portion of the 2020/21 50/50 lottery sales) to assist families with the cost of hockey registration. This funding can be used in addition to support from other sources such as KidSport and Jumpstart to reduce the total cost of registration. Funding eligibility will be determined using the KidSport criteria.
