U13 AAA Tryouts
U13 AAA INFORMATION PAGE
Phase 3 – Sunday September 13
- Practice - 10:00-11:00 - SC 1
- Intersquad game - 2:30-4:00 - SC 1
Players are asked to bring both their RED and BLUE jerseys to the rink. Jersey colours will be assigned at the rink for both the practice session and the intersquad game.
REMINDERS
No parents are permitted to enter the rinks during tryouts/evaluations. Please have your player arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled ice time and check in at the front desk in the lobby between Scotia 1 and Scotia 2.
Players must bring both tryout jerseys to every session.
Coaches and dressing room monitors will be available to assist players with skates or equipment and make sure everyone is fully prepared before going on the ice.
Helmet Stickers & Outside Program Apparel:
Any helmet stickers identifying spring teams, elite programs, AAA leagues, hockey schools, or other outside hockey programs must be removed or completely covered with tape for the duration of tryouts. The same applies to identifying socks from outside hockey programs. Players should wear Wings socks or plain-coloured socks without outside program logos.
Please check your player’s equipment before leaving home. Make sure:
- All required equipment is in the hockey bag
- Helmet screws and straps are secure
- Skates are sharpened and ready
- Skate laces are in good condition and not close to breaking
- Sticks are taped and ready for use
Every year we see players scrambling at the rink to replace broken or worn skate laces, fix helmet issues, or find missing equipment. Taking a few minutes to check everything at home will help make sure your player can arrive, get dressed and focus on their tryout. Thank you for helping us keep the tryout process organized and allowing the players to focus on their time on the ice.
RELEASE AND ROSTER TIMELINES
The Individual Skills schedule and player groups are posted below. Based on this year’s registration numbers, players are only guaranteed one Individual Skills session before the first round of releases. Following the individual skills evaluation, the player pool will be reduced to facilitate the first intersquad game consisting of:
- 18 Forwards
- 12 Defence
- 4 Goaltenders
Player releases will take place following evaluations on Friday night, Saturday night, and Sunday night. Players and families should be prepared for the player pool to be reduced throughout the weekend as the evaluation process progresses.
The final U13 AAA roster will be posted September 15th - Tuesday night at 9:00 PM.
Players released from the U13 AAA process will restart in the U13 AA/A/B tryout process and will continue to have the opportunity to be evaluated for those levels.
Please take the time to review the U13 AAA tryout process and schedule carefully before attending.
