U9 BALANCING INFORMATION

U9 Balancing Update – Oct 5^th, 2025

U9 Balancing for the 2025/2026 season has been completed.

Thank you to our membership for your participation and patience during U9 balancing.  Also, a very special congratulations to our U9 players – they have all worked incredibly hard during this process that can be challenging and showed lots of determination on the ice.  The entire Cole Harbour Hockey membership is proud of their efforts!

Good luck with your season and I can’t wait to watch the players growth and development this year!

Any concerns or questions on the U9 balancing process can be addressed to novice@chbawings.org, but will not entertained until a minimum 24 hours after lists are posted.

Cole Harbour Wings will field 5 teams at the U9 division this season:

2 – Advancing

2 – Intermediate

1 – Developing

HOCKEY NOVA SCOTIA

19.4 U9 Seasonal Structure (All levels of U9)

DEVELOPMENT SEASON (Practices only - no intersquad scrimmages or exhibition games):

From start date in respective associations until December 1st.

HALF-ICE/CROSS-ICE SEASON:

Starts December 1. Teams may participate in a maximum of 30 half-ice games per season including any exhibition and/or tournament play.

FULL-ICE SEASON:

Begins February 1st with a maximum of twelve (12) controlled scrimmages or games between associations or within an association to be used for the purpose of full ice playing education/ instruction in preparation for moving into the U11 division. Officials can be used. All scrimmages and games shall be approved by the local Regional Director.

U9 Advancing Level

Listed below is the player pool for the advancing level.

Teams in this level will be equally balanced into two teams and you will hear from your Head Coach this week.

-         Head Coach – U9 Advancing White – To be confirmed

-         Head Coach – U9 Advancing Red – To be confirmed

U9 Intermediate Level

Listed below is the player pool for the intermediate level.

Teams in this level will be equally balanced into two teams and you will hear from your Head Coach this week.

-         Head Coach – U9 Intermediate White – To be confirmed

-         Head Coach – U9 Intermediate Red – To be confirmed

 U9 Developing Level

Players in the developing level will form one team and you will also be contacted by your Head Coach this week as the U7/U9 coordinator is confirming the head coach at this level.
