Financial Assistance Programs
All registration fees are due on or before September 20th, 2025. If you have selected the installment option during registration 50 % will be due at the time of the registration, and the second installment is due on September 20th, 2025.
METHODS OF PAYMENT
- E-transfer full amount to treasurer@chbawings.org . The bank account is set up for auto-deposit; please ensure you note your player(s) name and age level in the memo field.
- E-transfer two equal payments at registration and by September 20th. Please ensure you note your player(s)’ name and age level in the memo field.
- By credit card upon check-out from HCR 3.0. This can be set up as payment in full or scheduled installments.
- Cheque for full amount payable to Cole Harbour Minor Hockey Association (Note: cash and PayPal are NOT accepted). Include player(s)’ names on the cheque for accurate processing. Please drop off cheques in the CHBAMHA box located in the Cole Harbour Place lobby between Scotia 1 and 2. Any cheque returned for insufficient funds will be charged a $25 admin fee upon rebilling.
- Two post-dated cheques dated no later than August 20th and September 20th 2025. If choosing this method of payment, all cheques are to be submitted together along with a copy of your registration receipt. Please drop off cheques in the CHBAMHA box located in the Cole Harbour Place lobby between Scotia 1 and 2
MULTI-PLAYER FAMILY DISCOUNT
CHMHA offers a $150 discount to families who have three or more players within the same household. The credit is applied to the youngest players account. Please contact the registrar.
This discount does not extend across hockey associations (i.e., a family who registers two players in CHBAMHA and one in Metro East Inferno would NOT qualify for this discount). If a refund is requested which reduces the number of family members registered to less than three, the refund will be adjusted to reflect the removal of the discount.
FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The following programs offer funding for hockey. There is no restriction on applying for grants from multiple sources as long as your family meets their requirements. If you require assistance paying for hockey, please explore using these options right away – all programs have limited funding (click on the links below).
If your family is applying/has qualified for financial assistance through any funding organizations please let the Treasurer know to expect the payment by sending an email to treasurer@chbawings.org when you begin the registration process.
A portion of CHBA Wings 50/50 revenue has been set aside for player financial assistance. We will provide top-up funds to families who require additional assistance in paying registration, try out and conditioning camp fees after receiving financial support from the funding organizations listed above. You must communicate your request along with the confirmation of financial support from one of the funding organizations to the Treasurer (treasurer@chbawings.org) before September 20th.
Please note that you must pay any balance owing after funding is confirmed in order for your player(s) to be considered in good standing and eligible to participate in hockey activities. For example, if a player’s registration, tryout and conditioning camp fees are $1,190 and it is confirmed they are receiving $500 in funding, the remaining balance of $690 is still due.
REFUNDS
All requests for refunds must be made in writing to registrar@chbawings.org . We ask that you remain patient during the busy time of registration for a response. Once conditioning camps start, the camp fee is non-refundable. Once tryouts start, the tryout fee is non-refundable. The checking clinic will not be refundable unless notification is received within five days of the clinic that your player took a course elsewhere. Any refund applied to a credit card will be charged a $25 administration fee.
No portion of registration fees will be refunded after December 31, 2025. Before that date, if your child stops playing hockey, your refund will be prorated based on the time already played. Should your child stop playing due to an injury, an injury report must be submitted before a refund will be considered. Note that even a prorated refund will not apply to the entire amount, as there are certain expenses (e.g. HNS insurance) that are paid by CHBAMHA up front and therefore cannot be returned.
