The Cole Harbour Pee Wee B Wings played in the 8th Annual Audrey McDonald Memorial Tournament in Thorburn this weekend. They tied their first game against Sackville 2-2, won their second game against West Hants 3-1 and beat Eastern Shore in a shoot out 2-1. They went into the Championship game against the home team Thorburn who has been undefeated in their regular season, as well as the tournament. Our boys played hard to end the first with a 2-1 lead. We went ahead 3-1 early in the second and they answered back with two more to tie it up 3-3. The third period was a nail biter but we managed to get up on them 4-3. However, the hometown favourites managed to tie it up with four minutes left in the third. With 15 seconds left in regulation, Cole Harbour received a four minute penalty which sent them into overtime with a 4 on 3 disadvantage. Our boys battled hard to keep it tied up while playing one man short for the better part of the overtime. Nothing was settled in overtime so it went to a shootout. All three Cole Harbour shooters scored which left it to the last Thorburn shooter. Our goalie stoned him and Cole Harbour Pee Wee B Wings bring home the Gold!!!!!! Congratulations boys!!!
